Hi Reader
There are five points to your North Star. These five areas are vital to better understanding yourself so you can develop better leadership habits and processes for business and life.
1. Habits
The vision of where want to go and why you want to go in that direction is a huge part of your success. If you are lost in where to put your focus, your attention will be scattered, and you won’t get the results you seek.
I have a reflection process that I use to help me keep on track. At the end of every quarter, I review my company’s results from revenue to new projects. This routine helps me see where I’m getting distracted and how to get back on track.
How can you keep yourself on track with a quarterly review routine?
2. Leadership
To show people that you understand them you should share back what you heard. People need to know that you listened to them. Without this step, you aren’t closing the story loop for them.
3. Inspiration
“Review your goals twice every day in order to be focused on achieving them.” - Les Brown
4. Reflection (Journal prompt)
How can you incorporate a quarterly review routine to help you and your team stay on track?
5. Research
Paul Zak, Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University, says stories hold our attention better than other information or data because they leave a physical and emotional groove in our brain’s neural network. “As social creatures who regularly affiliate with strangers, stories are an effective way to transmit important information and values from one individual or community to the next,” Zak writes. “Stories that are personal and emotionally compelling engage more of the brain, and thus are better remembered, than simply stating a set of facts.” (1)

Hi Reader There are five points to your North Star. These five areas are vital to better understanding yourself so you can develop better leadership habits and processes for business and life. 1. Habits Understanding our beliefs is the best way to improve our careers. For example, to be more engaged in meetings, we must believe we should take notes. Hi Reader Happy Valentine’s Day! If you have someone special in your life, I hope you make some time to explain why they are so special to you. Hi Reader There are five points to your North Star. These five areas are vital to better understanding yourself so you can develop better leadership habits and processes for business and life. 1. When I dug into gratitude, I became more joyful. When I dug into love, I became more loving. Where your thoughts go,...
