Hi Reader
There are five points to your North Star. These five areas are vital to better understanding yourself so you can develop better habits and processes for business and life.
1. Habits
Do you want to get a little better tomorrow? Maybe by just 1%. That's possible. Right? Start with a little daily reflection habit.
Take a quick moment to notice how you are feeling right now. Do you feel energized? Do you feel anxious? Checking in with yourself is an important habit to do. When you have the skill to regularly check in with yourself you begin to see patterns and it’s these patterns that help you make better decisions. The quicker you can notice certain feelings like frustration or anger then you can learn to let them go and make conscious decisions instead of reactionary ones.
2. Leadership
It’s okay not to know an answer. Many times, you or someone you are working with doesn’t know the answer because they haven’t taken time to dig down and uncover what is happening. This is common. We live in a fast-paced world. We expect quick solutions. Our brains and bodies don’t always work like that. We need to practice slowing down to make better decisions aligned with our vision and values. This practice will allow us to expand our self-awareness to make quick decisions that get better results.
3. Inspiration
"Let your mistakes go so you can focus on what matters."
4. Reflection (Journal prompt)
Are you hard on yourself? If yes, how can you be a little more encouraging for the next seven days?
5. Research
When a team member feels proud of their work they will work 30% longer on challenging projects because they feel prideful. They are able to put more value on future rewards. (1)
